My son who has been diagnosed with ADHD since he was 4 and 1/2 has now recently got the secondary diagnosis of ODD or oppositional Defiant Disorder or whatever. He has had a lot of success with the medication Concerta for his ADHD, but we are going to discuss some sort of medication to help stabilize his angry and volatile moods. He is having more and more stress at school and because he also has a motor skills problem and writing and typing is hard for him, school is becoming more of an issue and trigger for anger both at home and at school. What are some of the medications that have been used with your kids to try to stabilize their moods and help them cope with stress better? The school is doing what they can to help relieve the stress and workload but it is just not enough. I would like to know of any meds that you know about that have helped your kids or have not helped your kids. Any side effects, problems, etc. Our appointment to discuss this with the Psychiatrist is in the middle of December and I would like to be prepared with any info or questions I can gather from as many sources as possible. Hobbies: journalling, craft (crochet, knitting, sewing), reading, talking, watching tv (I love The Big Bang Theory, Beauty and the Geek, Law and Order:SVU. I am trying to like gardening so I can my yard in order, but so far it seems more like a chore, lol.
More about me: My journal is pretty much just about my day to day life. I write in it a lot about what I'm doing, what the kids are up to, craft projects I'm working on. I post photos fairly frequently. A lot of my journal is public, so feel free to have a poke around and friend me if you think we'd get along.
I find my kids highly amusing, incredibly frustrating and annoying, and completely beautiful! Whilst I love being a mum and staying at home with them, I also find it hard work and I'm not ashamed to write about my difficulties with it. I like other mums who are not afraid to say that they love their little cherubs, but get fed up with their little brats!
I do deal with depression and anxiety, and am working out some ptsd stuff (stemming from my experiences in the bushfires earlier this year). I try not to focus on that in my journal, but I do write about it sometimes.
I always read my friends journals and comment when I have something to say. I try to make this often enough that you know I'm still reading, and I like having friends who do the same.
I'm interested in all kinds of people. I love really getting to know people and hearing details about their lives and their thoughts (why no, I'm not nosy...merely curious....) so if you think we might get along then add away and I'll do the same.

Hi everybody! I've posted here a couple of times now & have met some fabulous people and thought I'd keep on addin' on.
My name is Leslie. I'm a 20 year old WOHM of an 11 month old boy that I usually refer to as Cuda even though his name is Dean. I have a strong urge to nickname everyone and everything in my life. Anyway. I've been engaged to his father, Branbearpig, for 2 years now (I'm still just not ready to get married, dunno). We have the love of my life, a pit bull named Fry, who is Cuda's age, along with 2 of the neediest cats in the universe and a ball python who enjoys nothing more than a rat and a good cuddle.
I am a coffee addict and occasionally have a mouth that could make a sailor blush. I'm a libertarian (pretty much = solically liberal, politically conservative) and vegetarian looking to go vegan again sometime soon. I use disposable diapers, formula (though I wanted to BF and tried--preemie baby hated my boobs and they decided to stop working after about 2 months of pumping), and we don't co-sleep because he's independent just like both of his parents and will murder anyone or anything that comes into his sleeping area.

I'm Nadine, i'm of french Canadian background but been living a bilingual life for over 20 years.
I'm 13 weeks and 4 days as of today, my due date is may 10th 2010.

I work as the arts reporter for CBC television, in french. (currently off since Monday, for medical reasons.)

More about me: I am not new to livejournal but was dealing with some intense relationship changes over a year ago and a few of my other Mom friends didnt seem to understand but Imiss having a livejournal and decided it was time to try again! My son Kilian in turning 2 on sunday. Hes so incredibly smart andamazing, he has quite the vocabulary, loves repeating things =p He has an immune dificiency and I deal with a lot of medical things but luckily I get to give him shots at home weekly so much fewer hospital visits. I have my son 5 or more days a week and I love it, I wish I could have him more but am lucky his father wants to be a part of his life. As for me I work 4 or 5 days a week and when I have time I really enjoy art and music, or just relaxing. I just started reading he twilight series and got cable finally so watching tv, usually spongebob because kilians obsessed =] I consider myself mature and open minded but my journal isnt just about being a mom but also about me and the struggles of life.. I dont know im rambling I have a public post with a little more check it out and see if youd like to be my friend!

More about me: I don't ever know what ot write on this thing. I'm your basic mom and wife, I love my children more life its self and I would die and/or kill for them. They give me meaning and with the birth of our last child I felt a since of completion. They drive me insane on some days but I wouldn't have it any other way, no other way. I love Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives but this season I haven't really been in to them, I don't really think they are good this year. I'm a big fan of Harry Potter and can't wait to see the last two movies! I like a good cry and I love a good laugh, I probably watch too much crime tv such as City Confidential and Notrious and Snapped, who doesn't love a good show about a crazy woman gone mad? I also probably watch too much Lifetime but then again, it's those true life movies. I love to sleep but don't do it often. I formula feed and I use Pampers. I support the death penalty. I'm a huge tabloid junkie and love those trashy magazines. If there is anything else you would like to know just ask.

Is motherhood a life altering experience, or what?
My name is Stacy, and I'm a stay-at-home mom. I have two little ones--a 2-year-old son, and a 5-year-old daughter. Love my kids so much it's ridiculous. They are so much trouble, and so, so much fun. I'm 35-years-old, but most of the time I don't feel like it. In fact, my hair is in two braids at the moment. :) I'm a bit nerdy. Enjoy computer games, but really don't have time to play them anymore. (Just wait until Diablo III comes out though--I'll definitely find some time then!) Love eclectic music, mostly non-mainstream stuff, although I can definitely appreciate a good hook if it shows up in the top 40. I love mysteries--books and movies--but nothing too upsetting. I prefer a cozy to be honest. My husband and I like to watch Bones, but we're kind of out of touch with whatever else is on TV. We love movies though--comedies, adventure, suspense, and corny horror movies, in particular. I try to sketch, paint, and do a bit of creative writing here and there. I'm liberal. I don't post about politics, or at least I haven't yet (not making any promises about the future, but I do try not to alienate people on LJ--I'm not here for political confrontations). Wouldn't mind someone else's lefty opinions, for sure, but if you are a righty and love to post about it--I'm definitely not your girl! I'm a Unitarian Universalist--so I'm not going to judge you or interfere with your religious beliefs, and I expect the same. :) I like to ruminate a bit about daily life in my journal, and I like to read about other people's thoughts and daily lives. Helps me to keep perspective! Plus, I've gotten some great music, book, and movie suggestions on LJ. I think that people are interesting, and I really admire people who have hobbies and unusual interests. However, I also appreciate that it can be very, very difficult to cultivate hobbies and interests when dedicating so much of yourself to parenting. I also have chronic migraines. It's a part of who I am (runs in my family) but I try not to let it define me and very rarely mention it in my journal. I've been off LJ for a while because of some moves, and a lot of my friends have stopped posting since I was last on here, so I'm looking for some new friends. I do tend to comment pretty often. Did I forget anything? I love my husband very much--he's sweet and funny, and a total science/technology geek.
